Accounting & Bookkeeping Services in Dubai

Accurate books are the foundation of everything a UAE company has to file: the Corporate Tax return, VAT returns, the annual audit, free zone licence renewals and bank facility reviews. Dawn Consultancy maintains your books every month to the standard an auditor expects, so year-end becomes a formality rather than a clean-up exercise.

Because our group also audits and files tax for its clients, your accounts are prepared with the audit file and the tax computation already in mind. You get one team that understands how each entry will be tested later, not three separate providers working from different numbers.

Why bookkeeping in the UAE now carries real compliance weight

Since the introduction of Corporate Tax, the quality of your accounting records is no longer just a management question. The tax return is built from your financial statements, and the Federal Tax Authority can review the underlying records behind every figure.

  • Corporate Tax requires financial statements prepared under IFRS, or IFRS for SMEs where revenue does not exceed AED 50 million, and records retained for seven years after the end of the tax period
  • VAT requires tax invoices, credit notes and import records to reconcile to your returns, with records kept for at least five years
  • Audited financial statements are mandatory for companies with revenue above AED 50 million, for Qualifying Free Zone Persons, and for most free zone licence renewals
  • E-invoicing is being introduced in the UAE in phases, and it requires clean master data and a structured chart of accounts before go-live

What our bookkeeping service covers

  • Recording sales, purchases, expenses, payroll and bank transactions in your accounting system
  • Monthly bank, credit card and payment gateway reconciliations
  • Accounts receivable and payable management, with ageing reports
  • VAT coding on every transaction and preparation of VAT return workings
  • Fixed asset register maintenance and depreciation
  • Accruals, prepayments and month-end closing entries
  • Intercompany and related-party balances, reconciled and documented for transfer pricing disclosures
  • Year-end closing and a complete, audit-ready trial balance

Monthly reporting you can act on

Every month you receive a management pack prepared to a consistent format, so trends are visible and questions are raised early.

  • Profit and loss statement, with comparison to the prior month and prior year
  • Balance sheet and cash position
  • Receivables and payables ageing
  • A short commentary on material movements and items that need your decision

Our methodology

  1. Onboarding and review. We review your existing records, chart of accounts and open balances, and identify gaps before taking over.
  2. Chart of accounts and policies. We align your chart of accounts to IFRS reporting and to the Corporate Tax and VAT schedules, using our standard accounting policy framework.
  3. Clean-up of prior periods. Where records are behind or incomplete, we bring them up to date and reconcile opening balances.
  4. Monthly cycle. Transactions are recorded, reconciled and reviewed on a fixed monthly timetable.
  5. Quarterly tax alignment. VAT returns are prepared from the reconciled ledger, and Corporate Tax exposure is tracked through the year.
  6. Year-end handover. We deliver an audit-ready file with supporting schedules and reconciliations for your auditors.

Software we work with

We work in your existing system or help you choose one. As a partner of Xero, QuickBooks Online and Zoho Books, we set up and run these platforms for UAE businesses, and we also work with desktop systems such as Tally and Sage. If you are changing systems, we manage the data migration and opening balances. See our cloud accounting and accounting software services.

Catch-up and clean-up bookkeeping

Many companies approach us with twelve months or more of unrecorded transactions, often shortly before an audit, a Corporate Tax deadline or a liquidation. We rebuild the records from bank statements, invoices and contracts, reconcile every account and deliver financial statements that can be audited and filed.

Who we work with

  • Free zone companies in DMCC, JAFZA, DAFZA, IFZA, Meydan, RAKEZ and other zones
  • Mainland LLCs and branches of foreign companies
  • Offshore and holding companies, including RAK ICC entities
  • Start-ups that need books in order from their first month
  • Groups that need consolidated reporting across several UAE entities

Why clients choose Dawn Consultancy

  • Audit-standard books. Accounts prepared by a group that audits, so they hold up under audit testing.
  • Tax built in. Corporate Tax and VAT specialists in the same team, working from the same ledger.
  • One point of contact. A named accountant who knows your business, supported by a reviewing manager.
  • Fixed monthly fees. Pricing based on your transaction volume, agreed in advance.
  • Confidentiality. Your financial data handled under strict confidentiality and access controls.

Frequently asked questions

Is bookkeeping mandatory for companies in the UAE?

Yes. The Commercial Companies Law requires companies to keep accounting records, and the Corporate Tax and VAT laws require records that support every figure in your returns. Corporate Tax records must be kept for seven years after the end of the relevant tax period.

Which accounting standards must UAE companies follow?

Financial statements used for Corporate Tax must be prepared under IFRS. Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or less may use IFRS for SMEs. We set up your books to report under the appropriate standard from the start.

Can you take over books that are months behind?

Yes. Catch-up bookkeeping is a large part of our work. We reconstruct the records from bank statements and source documents, reconcile all balances and bring the accounts up to date before resuming a normal monthly cycle.

How much does bookkeeping cost in Dubai?

Our fees are fixed monthly and depend mainly on the volume of transactions, the number of bank accounts and whether VAT or payroll is included. We quote after a short review of your records, so there are no surprises.

Do you also prepare VAT and Corporate Tax returns?

Yes. Because we maintain the ledger, we prepare your VAT returns and Corporate Tax return from the same reconciled figures, which reduces errors and duplicated work.

Will my books be ready for the annual audit?

That is the purpose of our year-end process. We deliver a reconciled trial balance with supporting schedules for every material balance, which shortens the audit and reduces queries from your auditors.
